Mount Meru Climbing

Mount Meru, standing at 4,562 meters (14,968 feet), is Tanzania's second-highest peak and offers a rewarding climb with stunning views of Mount Kilimanjaro. Located within Arusha National Park, the trek provides opportunities to see diverse wildlife, including giraffes, buffaloes, and various bird species. The climb typically takes 3-4 days and involves trekking through lush forests, moorlands, and volcanic craters. The route to the summit, Socialist Peak, is less crowded than Kilimanjaro, providing a more tranquil experience.

Although it is less technically challenging than Kilimanjaro, it still requires good physical fitness and acclimatization to handle the altitude. Guided climbs are mandatory for safety, with experienced guides and porters assisting climbers. Reaching the summit at sunrise offers breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding landscapes, making the effort well worth it.
